HCM component undergoing User Acceptance Testing

The soon-to-be implemented Human Capital Management (HCM) component of SAP is currently undergoing “User Acceptance Testing,” a process that makes sure the system performs correctly before the January go-live date. This will allow the SAP management team to identify any potential bugs or issues and work them out before HCM is launched systemwide.

Four schools are participating in the testing – Creek View Elementary School, Manning Oaks Elementary School, Webb Bridge Middle School, and Alpharetta High School. Several Central Office departments also are taking part – Transportation, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Budget, Human Resources and the CASE substitute teacher management system.

Human Capital Management GUIs to be installed mid-December

What do you want for the holidays this year? How about your very own HCM GUI?

‘GUI’ is an acronym for ‘graphic user interface’ – a fancy SAP word that means ‘icon’. The GUI is what you click on to launch SAP, similar to how you click on icons for Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer to open those programs.

GUIs related to the Human Capital Management phase for SAP will be installed on your computer in mid-December. The SAP management team is working out an installation schedule. Dates are still being finalized and will be communicated through a future “Follow Me to SAP” e-newsletter.

Quick Tip for the Week

To access Business Process Procedures (BPPs) from the SAP Production environment, click on ‘Help’ at the top menu of your active session and then click on ‘FCS Help’. That will bring up the ‘RWD uPerform Internet Explorer’ page. You can search by department, by transaction or by the process you are trying to do within SAP.
