A periodic informational email from the Fulton County Schools SAP Management Team

This e-newsletter is sent each week during SAP implementation to keep SAP users aware of special dates, trainings and other important need-to-know news. Consider this your “One Stop Shop” for SAP news!

Has “Follow Me to SAP” been helpful? Let us know.

As the school year draws to a close, so will the “Follow Me to SAP” e-newsletter. We are evaluating its effectiveness and making possible changes for next year. Please take a moment to let us know what you think. We know you’re busy, so this survey will only take 1-2 minutes of your time. You can answer anonymously if you wish.

Problems with requisition emails

Over the last few days, some people have experienced requisition email problems. These issues have been addressed and resolved.

1.        Receipt of emails with cryptic text and error messages

2.        Emails with the subject line, “Missed Deadline: Please release purchase requisition”

3.        Missing emails / emails as junk mail

Click here for more information on how these problems have been resolved.

Basic Computer Skills workshops offered for some employee groups

If you are reading this, then it’s likely you’re one of the thousands of Fulton County employees who use computers in their daily work. But what about everyone else? Not every job in Fulton County requires a computer; for example, bus drivers, maintenance and custodial workers, and cafeteria staff have limited access to computers in their jobs. Some of these employees use them a little, others a lot, and some none at all.

That’s beginning to change as our school system fully switches to SAP. Beginning next school year, all employees – those who use computers and those who do not – will use Employee Self Service (ESS, for short) to manage their personal employee information.

Several summer sessions are being held to help non-computer using employees ease into using SAP, particularly ESS. At these sessions, employees will learn how to turn on a computer and monitor, use the keyboard and mouse, and how to navigate Windows®, email and the Internet.

We take many of these skills for granted, but it’s important to help all of our employees feel comfortable using technology. Printed posters about these trainings have been sent to each school.
