A periodic
informational email from the Fulton County Schools SAP Management Team |
|
This e-newsletter is sent each week during SAP implementation
to keep SAP users aware of special dates, trainings and other important
need-to-know news. Consider this your “One Stop Shop” for SAP
news! |

First full
month of SAP use goes smoothly |
|
The full
first month of using SAP has come to a close. As with any new implementation,
there were issues to resolve but Fulton County Schools can be proud that it
accomplished its first month more smoothly than similar organizations that
have transitioned to SAP. This is largely due to Fulton’s teamwork and
commitment to problem-solving. Good job, everybody! |

List of
employees identified for SAP access removal |
|
As
mentioned in last week’s “Follow Me to SAP” newsletter, the
SAP management team is reviewing who has access to SAP and – just as
importantly – who should not. This relates to those trained on the
Finance and Logistics components of SAP, not Human Capital Management (HCM). The team
developed a list of employees who have not received the required training and
passed the assessments, yet have gained access to the system. These employees
will have their SAP access removed until they complete the necessary
requirements. Also
identified were some employees who have received the required
training/assessments but have yet to use the SAP system. It is possible that
these employees do not presently use SAP and therefore do not need user
access. The school system pays for a select number of SAP user licenses, so
it’s important that those be given to employees who truly need and use
the system. No
actions have taken place to remove any of these individuals; however, the SAP
management team is contacting them or their principals/supervisors to further
discuss the situation. |

Additional training opportunities occurring in January |
|
The Fulton County Schools SAP training team understands
that when employees move into new positions or have changes in
responsibility, they will need SAP training to support their jobs. Right now
all training resources are devoted to Human Capital Management, but in
January there will be additional resources available for FICO, Logistics, and
any follow-up HCM training. Details will be shared in future “Follow Me
to SAP” newsletters. |
|
Time Management resources available |
|
Those
attending the recent HCM Time Management trainings have additional resources
to help them prepare for the go-live in January. ·
A time entry and time
approval practice training lab will be held this Friday, December 14, from 9
a.m. – 5 p.m., at both the PLC North lab and the PLC South lab. For
information regarding the south lab, email James Stewart, and for the north
lab, email Angela Sokol. · Click here
for a quick reference guide regarding SAP time entry transaction codes. |
|
SAP Workflow is coming |
|
When you
return from the winter break, SAP Workflow will be up and running. This
feature of SAP allows you to easily track information such as the release and
approval of requisitions through the system. Stay tuned for more information. |
|
Quick Tip
for the Week |
|
Remember
to save these weekly “Follow Me to SAP” emails, perhaps to a
folder on your computer. They contain training information or tips that may
be a handy reference as you continue using SAP. |
