Seaborn Lee Elementary School installs first class of National Junior Beta Club Members

During an induction ceremony held November 4, 23 Seaborn Lee fifth-grade students took the National Beta Club oath and received certificates from National Beta Club Field Ambassador Geraldlene Henderson.

Guest speaker Marci Early, a former Seaborn Lee student and current Westlake High School magnet program member, stressed to the students the importance of setting and attaining their goals. Miss Early and Mrs. Henderson, along with the students’ parents, assisted with the pinning ceremony for new inductees.

The Beta Club is the nation’s largest independent, educational non-profit, youth organization. Its purpose is to encourage and reward academic achievement, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship. To qualify for membership into this honor organization, fifth-grade students must be currently working at or above grade level and show creditable academic achievement.
