Summer Transition Program registration begins May 13
Registration will be held May 13-16 for a six-week Summer Transition Program offered to incoming kindergartners who either did not attend a Georgia pre-kindergarten or Head Start, or attended pre-kindergarten but need additional support to be ready for school in the fall.
The Summer Transition Program is being provided through a grant from Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. The program is occurring throughout Georgia, but in Fulton County, classes will be hosted for students in the Campbell Elementary School, Hapeville Elementary School, Lake Forest Elementary School, Mimosa Elementary School, and Mount Olive Elementary School attendance zones.
The program begins June 3, 2013, and will include a high quality instructional program, transportation and meals. Children whose families are eligible for Child and Parent Services (CAPS), which is administered by the Department of Early Care and Learning, are the target audience for the Summer Transition Program.
