Office of Grant Development

The Office of Grant Development coordinates the district's grant application process and philanthropic outreach aligned with the district's Strategic Plan.

Grant Champions is designed to build the capacity of local schools to develop competitive grant proposals by providing professional development, grant resources, and consultative support. Grant Champions serve as the school liaison with the Office of Grant Development. Follow us on Twitter @FCSGrantChamps and review the monthly Grant Alerts for current funding opportunities!

FCS staff members can access monthly grant alerts on the employee portal

 that compile educational funding opportunities.

If you are interested in fostering grant development within your school, contact Ashley Garrison to learn more about the Grant Champions Program. As a Grant Champion for your school, you will build your grant development skills, lead a grant development team and secure additional grant funding for your school.

Steps to becoming a Grant Champion:

  1. Talk to your Principal about becoming a Grant Champion

  2. Form a Grant Committee with the Principal, a few members of Staff, Parents, SGC members

  3. Understand your School's strategic plan and discuss funding needs or resource gaps

  4. Mine local resources - Partners in Education, Corp. partners, local service groups, churches

  5. Inform school leadership of your intent to apply and route a grant approval form

  6. Submit your proposals and win grant funding for your school !

Grant Champions workshops are offered throughout the year to provide consultative support, grant writing tips and tricks and resources on a variety of programs for those interested in grant development, funding opportunities and grant research.
