Visit www.fcsnutrition.com for menus and more!

FCS school nutrition staff strive to make lunchtime the favorite part of every student’s day. From their friendly greetings in the cafeteria and the love they dish out with every student’s meal, to how they encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, our school nutrition professionals are truly heroes.

On Friday, May 5, visit your FCS café and show your appreciation for your school nutrition team as part of School Lunch Hero Day.

Between preparing healthy meals, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, school nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate.

Federal nutrition standards for school meals require cafeterias to offer a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, use whole grains and limit sodium, calories and saturated fat in each meal. School nutrition professionals have been mixing up the menu and getting students excited about trying the new, healthier choices in school lunch.

Be sure to visit your school café and thank your team for all their hard work!

Student Choice Food Challenge

Over 100 students from across the district will participate in Fulton's Second Annual Student Choice Food Challenge, an event where students taste and vote for potential new school meal recipes. After tasting, students provide feedback through a rating system.  The collected data will help the district determine which student-approved recipes will be added to school menus for next year!  Featured recipes include Thai Chicken Salad, Chicken Pasta Alfredo, Grilled Korean Chicken BBQ, Veggie Egg Roll. Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Steak Burrito, Chicken & Waffles, Hummus Wrap, Superfood Salad, and Fruit Pearls.

Locally Grown Cucumbers Served all Month Long!

For the entire month of May, crisp, Georgia Grown cucumbers are served at lunch as part of Fulton County’s School Nutrition Farm to School Program. Cucumbers are served on fresh Signature Side Salads and Chef Selection Salads daily!

Fulton Schools Serve Summer Meals
