Reach Your Healthy New Year Goals with School Meals

With calorie limits, less than 10% of calories from saturated fat, zero grams of trans fat, and sodium limits, School Meals are healthier than ever before!  School menus are carefully planned by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with input from our District Chef to make eating healthy easy and delicious!

Jump Start Your Day with Breakfast

Students who eat school breakfast have been shown, on average, to attend 1.5 more days of school per year and score 17.5% higher on standardized math tests.

Breakfast in the Classroom

Over 20 schools across the district offer Breakfast in the Classroom.  Classrooms are familiar to students and offer a comfortable environment for eating and learning. That is why when breakfast is in the classroom more students take the opportunity to eat a healthy breakfast to start the school day!   Plus, Breakfast in the Classroom is a great way to reach students who do not have time to eat before school. This school year, 8 schools were awarded Action for Healthy Kids grants to implement Breakfast in the Classroom!

All Foods Sold in Schools Must Meet Standards

The Smart Snacks in School standards published by USDA ensure all snack foods and beverages sold to students during the school day are nutritious. Nutrition standards include limits on calories, sodium, fat, sugar, and beverage options.  View a summary of the standards
