Visit www.fcsnutrition.com for menus and more!

With calorie limits, less than 10% of calories from saturated fat, zero grams of trans fat, and sodium limits, school meals are healthier than ever before! School menus are carefully planned by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with input from our District Chef to make eating healthy easy and delicious!

What’s for Breakfast?

Students who eat school breakfast have been shown, on average, to attend 1.5 more days of school per year and score 17.5% higher on standardized math tests. Daily School Breakfast Menus are planned according to USDA guidelines and offer 4 food groups.

Students select daily from:

- Hot and cold entree options
- Fresh fruit & 100% fruit juice
- Milk choices: 1% & Skim

As part of USDA’s Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program, students from 18 Fulton County Elementary Schools are offered a free fresh fruit or vegetable snack 2-3 days a week!  The program introduces students to a wide variety of fruits and vegetables! Each fresh fruit and vegetable is accompanied with a Fun Fact Sheet, and students are encouraged to use their senses to taste, smell, touch, and see the novel fruits and vegetables.

What have students tried?

  • Dino Egg Pluot
  • Sorbet Grapes
  • Muscadines
  • Rainbow Carrots
  • Watermelon Radish
  • Jicama & Lime
  • Grapefruit
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Percinnamons
  • Cranberries
  • Mangos; and more!

Elementary schools participating in the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program include Asa Hilliard, Bethune, Brookview, Campbell, College Park, Feldwood, C.H. Gullatt, Hamilton E. Holmes, Hapeville, Heritage, Lake Forest, Love T. Nolan, Mimosa, Oakley, Palmetto, Parklane, Seaborn Lee, and S.L. Lewis.

Fulton County School Nutrition is now hiring café workers! Positions are part-time with benefits available. We follow the FCS calendar for holidays and breaks. We are seeking long-term committed individuals to join our school café team.
