GA grown Kale, harvested fresh in Vidalia, Georgia from Herndon Country Farms was served in all school cafes in December as part of the chef-inspired Kale & Apple Salad! All apples served in December are harvested regionally from North Carolina!
4,780 lbs of farm fresh sweet potatoes were roasted in Fulton Cafes the week before Thanksgiving Break! The Sweet Potatoes were grown and harvested in Lucama, North Carolina by a 6th generation family farm. Chef Sloan seasoned with a few sprigs of school garden grown Rosemary!
River Eves Elementary's First Grade STEM students toured the school kitchen and practiced sequence, directions, and measurements with Cafe Manager, Ms. Payne.
