The last week of school in December, all schools will serve the Kale & Apple Salad! The kale is grown locally in Vidalia, Georgia, and the apples are grown regionally in Hendersonville, South Carolina! Because it’s grown close to home it helps support our local farmers, takes less fuel to get to our cafeterias, and is served fresher on our plates!
11 Fulton County Elementary Schools participate in USDA’s Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program, offering students a fresh fruit or vegetable snack 2-3 days a week! The program introduces students to a wide variety of fruits and vegetables including Rainbow Carrots, Kumquats, Kiwi, Oroblanco, and many more!
