Plan and provide efficient and effective logistical
services that will assist in the support for the educational process of FCS.
These logistical services include:
Warehousing. Receive, transfer, store and distribute designated material from
other departments or schools. This material includes; classroom furniture,
frozen/dry food, textbooks, special education, records and specialized school
equipment such as computers.
Printing Operations. Provides commercial level
the cost of printing is charged back to the schools and departments. This
operation produces over 25 million impressions a year and saves the school
district twenty to thirty five percent.
Textbooks. Manages the FCS textbook
program in compliance with the Academics Division directives. This includes
ordering, receiving, storing, inventory control and issuing
inter-district mail, special pickup and delivery services for schools and
a surplus school equipment and material
program that picks up, redistributes, declares and disposes of surplus.
Schools. Supplies and equipment for a new school need to be
ordered months in advance to the date that the new school can receive the
material. This school material is delivered to the warehouse to process and
hold until the school is ready. This assures that the equipment and material is
on hand when needed. When the new school is ready to receive then the warehouse
delivers and assists the school in setting up.
Provide planning and assistance to schools/facilities that are undergoing
renovations. This assistance includes manpower and material for the relocation,
storage and return of all school material and equipment during the
