Wage Attachment, commonly referred to as wage garnishment, is the process of deducting money from an employee's pay, most often as a result of a court order. Wage garnishments continue until the entire debt is paid or arrangements are made to pay off the debt. Garnishments can be taken for any type of debt but common examples of debt that result in attachments include:

• Child /Spousal Support
• Student Loans
• Tax Levies
• Creditor Garnishments (must be filed through State Court of Fulton County)

Bankruptcy Orders are issued by a U.S. Bankruptcy Court on behalf of an employee to prevent further voluntary or involuntary debt collections. When served on an employer, garnishments and chapter 13 bankruptcies are taken as part of the payroll process.
