Mobile Learning


​Mobile Learning projects are planned and implemented to provide greater flexibility to students, teachers and staff through the use of smaller, portable devices that allow learning and teaching to take place beyond the traditional classroom setting.

New Teacher Induction (NTI) Laptops for 2013

The district distributed 1,100 new laptops to newly hired teachers across the county.

Certified Teacher & Staff D-Series Refresh for 2013

A district-wide refresh of 2,000 outdated laptops that were in use by teaching staff.

Mobile Device Management (MDM) Implementation

An effort to identify and acquire a network-ready, centrally managed solution capable of tracking, configuring and securing FCS mobile devices to include tablets and other mobile devices.

School Nutrition Computer Refresh for FY 14

​There were 20 aging desktop systems in use throughout the county in School Nutrition whose warranty has expired.

Administrative Buildings Laptop Refresh (E5400)

Phase one of this project replaced remaining desktops in use by administrative staff with the current laptop standard. This phase was completed in the second quarter of 2015.

However, many administrative staff are currently using the legacy E-Series laptop model.  This portion of the project is currently in process and scheduled as phase two which will be completed by the first quarter of 2016.
