F.A.Q: Elementary School Questions

1. What do you do with children who always finish their work early? I teach third grade and am having trouble keeping the children busy and quiet. I would rather not have them do "busy work". Thank you.

2. I teach 4th grade. I would like to incorporate more hands-on activities, but I am overwhelmed with the curriculum. How can I bring more hands-on activities to a 4th grade classroom?

3. This is my first year teaching kindergarten and I'm having problems keeping the children focused during large group lessons. Do you have any suggestions?

4. First Grade - I am having trouble getting everything in during the day. I am afraid I won't cover all of my curriculum by the end of the year. I feel very overwhelmed by all there is to do!!

I feel like iI spend most of my time quieting the kids who are NOT in my group. I feel like all I am doing is reviewing things and hope they already know it or can figure it out on their own. How can I spend more time teaching my plans and less time monitoring kids. PS I don't have an assistant.. it so only me trying to manage MY group, a second independent group and kids at seat work.

8. I am a new 1st year teacher and I'm requesting some things to do on the 1st day of school. I will be teaching an elementary BD class. Other than
