General Education Development Test (GED)
The General Education Development Test (GED) is offered as an alternative to a high school diploma. The GED test is made up of five sections, including Writing, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts, and Mathematics. The complete battery of tests costs $95 and each retest is $19.
A current, valid, government-issued photo I.D. and Social Security card or Tax ID will be required for registration. (Name on the ID and Social Security card must be exactly the same.) Eighteen and 19-year-olds must also present their official withdrawal form in order to register for orientation and the actual GED exam. (The date withdrawal form was issued must be less than one year old.) Acceptable IDs include a driver’s license from any state, a learner’s permit, a Georgia ID, a passport, or military ID.

Host a GED Testing Center site that provides academic assistance to address needs identified in the Adult Literacy Population
