Online Programs and Private Schools Outside of Fulton County
- Online and Private school courses outside of Fulton County are acceptable only if the student has not been able to take the course(s) through the regular school day, night school, PLATO, Fulton County School's Virtual Campus, or GA Virtual School.
- In order to gain authorization for an online or private school course outside of Fulton County, the student must complete the "Off-Campus Course Request" form to initiate the process. The student turns in the signed form to his/her counselor who will verify the need to take the course, check the accreditation of the institution, and sign the form. In addition, the Curriculum Assistant Principal and Principal of the home school must sign their approval. If all appropriate home school staff signs, the form is sent to a Fulton County Curriculum staff member to determine if permission will be granted. If permission is granted, the student will be contacted by his or her counselor, will receive a copy of the form, and pay for the online or private school course.
- The student must adhere to the policies of the institution and must have the final transcript sent to his or her home school, in order for the course grade to be placed on their transcript.
- Courses vary in price depending on the institution.
- Students who are taking additional or credit recovery courses at another accredited institution and wish to transfer the credit DO NOT take the End Of Course Test (these are not the dually-enrolled students). If you choose this option, you will not be eligible to apply for either a variance or waiver for the GA High School Graduation Test(s).
- Students who are taking additional or credit recovery courses at a non-accredited institution and wish to transfer the credit MUST take AND pass the EOCT.
