GHSGT Waivers and Variances
On December 7, 2005, the State Board of Education passed a new rule relating to waivers and variances of the Georgia High School Graduation Tests and the Georgia High School Writing Test. The state has added the opportunity to request a "waiver" which means that they will not apply all or part of the requirements of the GHSGT/GHSWT or a "variance" which means that they will modify all or part of the literal requirements of the GHSGT/GHSWT rule. Interested parents may gather additional information from the web site below or contact the Student Testing Office at (404) 763-5600 Ext 143. Parents begin the application process by sending a formal request to the Superintendent's office.
