TITLE I DISTINGUISHED SCHOOLS
FULTON COUNTY SCHOOLS
The Georgia Department of Education has named several Fulton schools to its list of 2008 Title I Distinguished Schools. Twenty-one elementary schools and one middle school will receive monetary awards. These schools have made AYP four or more consecutive years, and will therefore be eligible for monetary awards based on their school poverty index.
The Title I Distinguished Schools and Recognition Program was restructured to be in alignment with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. A school is labeled Distinguished if it makes Adequate Yearly progress under No Child Left Behind for three or more years.
