Enrollment Procedure at Alpharetta High School

1. Check our "Meet Your Counselors" web page to see who your child's counselor would be. Counselors are assigned based on the letters of your child's last name. You should also find the phone extension and email address for the appropriate counselor in the "Meet Your Counselors" section.

2. Once you know the appropriate counselor, parents should call the counseling office to set up an appointment and arrange to pick up a registration packet.

3. When you arrive for your appointment, make sure that you bring the following items with you:

  • Completed registration packet
  • Withdrawal form, transcript, discipline records, and mailing address of school last attended
  • Two proofs of residence (contract for apartment or home, utility bill, pay stub, etc...)
  • Immunization records and ear, eye, dental form (Out of state immunization records must be transferred to Georgia certificates).
  • Child's Social Security card
  • Copy of child's birth certificate
  • Legal guardianship papers if necessary

Withdrawal Procedure at Alpharetta High School

1. Student/Parent should inform Maggie Edmiston, counseling secretary, of plans to withdraw from AHS at least two days ahead of time. The parent must be available to sign the withdrawal form, provide the name and address of the school the student will be attending, and give the student's new address if the student is moving. All student fines must be cleared before the withdrawal is complete.

2. The procedure for the student to follow on the last full day of attendance is as follows:

  • Student should pick up the withdrawal form from Mrs. Edmiston in Counseling Suite 1310 before school.
  • Student takes the form around to each teacher during the day and obtains their signature and a withdrawal grade.
  • Student must also go to the media center during the day for a signature indicating all books have been returned.
  • At the end of the day, the student returns all textbooks to Mr. McKown in Suite 1220 and then returns the completed withdrawal form to Mrs. Edmiston.
