Spotlight on Schools

Webb Bridge Middle

“Live from the broadcast studio. You are watching the Jaguar Morning News." These are familiar words to everyone at Webb Bridge Middle School. Faithfully each morning 8th grade students produce a newscast that goes on air to communicate the morning announcements. The broadcast begins with a student created introduction and music with special words especially written for the broadcast. The newscast itself features the pledge led by students, Ms. Fogartie's Words of Wisdom, This Day in History, and Ron Clark's Essential 55 Rule for the Week. Special stories include anything from a special video about a school or historic event to student created commercials. The studio itself is a small scale professional studio with a sound board, titlemaker, switchboard, telepromptor and cameras providing 2 different shots. Following all the announcements, the two anchors bid their audience farewell by saying, "You've been watching the Jaguar Morning News, have a great day!"...rolling credits and music.
