Alpharetta Elementary

 

AES RUNS FOR TECHNOLOGY

     On April 28th, one hundred and forty eight runners competed in the first Alpharetta Elementary Fun Run.  The run, the last event of the 50th birthday celebration of AES, started and ended at Alpharetta Elementary.  The proceeds from the run will go to the Alpharetta Elementary Technology Department.

      The Beat the Eagle Fun Run, which was a half mile run for the beginner runners, followed Alphie the Eagle all around the parking lot and ended on the track.

       Results from both races are as follows:
1st place overall – Ken Hirschi  22:06
1st place male Alpharetta Elementary student – Chris Ganter 26:09
1st place female Alpharetta Elementary student – Mary Margaret Easterling 26:15
1st place Alpharetta Elementary teacher – Sheila Connell 29:21
1st place Beat the Eagle – John David and Matthew Shamoun – tied.
     The t-shirt was designed by Sydney VerSteeg – a fourth grade student at Alpharetta Elementary
