The Fulton County Board of Education is comprised of seven members elected to serve four-year terms. As the governing body of the Fulton County School System, the primary role of the board is the legislation of school system policies that are executed by the superintendent and staff.
The superintendent serves as an ex-officio member of the board and acts as the secretary-treasurer. Board members elect a president for a two-year term and a vice president for a one-year term.
