In 1997, and again in 2002, Fulton County voters overwhelmingly approved the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), the one-cent sales tax intended primarily to assist the school system with construction needs.
SPLOST also provides funds for critical needs such as technology upgrades and bus purchases, along with debt relief. Since first passed almost ten years ago, SPLOST has generated more than $1 billion for Fulton students.
