Science GPS - Art Standards Connections

A strength of Fulton County Schools (FCS) and art education in FCS is our belief in both a discipline based approach to art education (the inclusion of art history, aesthetics, art criticism, and art production) and the importance of interdisciplinary learning. This is apparent in each of our elementary art classrooms and is typified by units that stress the interdisciplinary nature of learning. Art is a place where students apply and engage with learning across the curriculum while they meet our demanding learning standards in visual art. Lessons link Georgia Performance Standards in language arts, science, math or social studies with art standards.
